Moffat Tunnel - East Portal, CO

This 6.2 mile long tunnel through the Continental Divide is 9,239 feet above sea level at its apex and is the 6th longest tunnel in the world. Opening to rail traffic in February 1928, Moffat Tunnel bypassed 27 miles of difficult railroad over the 12,000 foot elevation Rollins Pass.
